Further Treatment Instructions (Untreated Exterior Cladding Boards)

UNTREATED EXTERIOR CLADDING BOARDS

(The first topcoat treatment must be carried out more than 60 hours after planing.)

PAINTING CONDITIONS

The surface to be painted must be dry. The moisture content of the wood must not exceed 20% of the dry weight of the wood. During painting and drying, the temperature of the air, surface, and paint must be above +5°C (41°F), and the relative humidity must be below 80%. Avoid painting in direct sunlight.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove any loose material, dust, and dirt from the surface. Wash any moldy areas with a mold wash solution, rinse thoroughly with water, and allow to dry before painting. Uncoated nails and other corroding metal parts must be painted with FERREX anti-corrosion paint.

PAINTING PROCESS

Wood protection: Brush the surface with a colorless wood preservative, e.g., WOODEX wood preservative.

Priming: Prime the wood surfaces with NORDICA primer thinned by 10%. Drying time is 1 day at +20°C (68°F), 2 days at +15°C (59°F), and 3 days at +5°C (41°F).

Topcoating: A wood surface primed with NORDICA primer can be topcoated with both dispersion and oil-based paints. Apply two coats. Recommended topcoats include NORDICA EKO, PANU, CELLO WINTEX, and AINOLA PRO house paints; WOODEX opaque wood preservatives; or WINTOL and CELLO VILLA oil paint.

Paint the cross-cut ends of the boards very carefully.
